After more than a year of construction, WinStar World Casino, operated by the Chickasaw Nation, officially opened its convention center on Friday, September 9.

In addition to three executive boardrooms, the 65,000-square-foot event space?has a grand ballroom and a junior ballroom. The convention?center connects to the casino between the London Gaming Plaza and the casino hotel.

Senior Sales Manager at the WinStar Convention Center,?Morgan Ambrose, said, “Visitors to the WinStar Convention Center can expect our experienced professionals to take care of all of their meeting and planning needs in a one-stop shop,” according to WinStar’s blog. Ambrose said that?the state-of-the-art space can accommodate any and all events, “From corporate outings, to conferences, to expos, banquets, weddings, trade shows, training seminars, corporate retreats and social getaways. You name it, we can execute it!”

Construction on the Thackerville,?Oklahoma property began in April 2015. Originally slated to be completed by July, rain delays pushed the project to September.

Additions include?a 12,500-square-foot catering kitchen, which is outfitted with up-to-date equipment and capable of preparing up to 2,000 plated offerings; a grand pre-function space, which features 33-foot ceilings and three 30-foot chandeliers; a?15,000-square-foot grand ballroom, capable of accommodating?1,000 guests and can be divided into seven separate rooms; a?6,400 square feet junior ballroom, with banquet occupancy of 430 guests, and can be divided into four separate rooms; and three executive boardrooms, which can combine to occupy 45 people.

Last month, the Chickasaw Nation,?which is the twelfth largest federally recognized tribe in the United States, signed a deal with London-based, enterprise-level business-to-business online gaming software developer and supplier GAN, to?launch a social desktop, mobile and virtual reality casino experience for the tribe via its Simulated Gaming platform. The Chickasaw Nation operates nearly 20,000 electronic gaming machines at 20 regional casinos in the state and?including?WinStar, operates the Riverwind Casino and the Treasure Valley Casino.
