Portugal importance:

The agreement is, according to iSofttBet, of “particular significance” in Portugal’s regulated market, as it will look to make use of Sportingtech’s “expertise” to advance its presence in the southern European country where it one of the first game providers to secure a license.

Via company blog, Lars Kollind, Head of Business Development for iSoftBet, said they are “excited” to partner with Sportingtech, as they are “keen to make serious headway in regulated markets around the globe.”

He adds that Sportingtech’s strength in Europe is “unmatched,” especially when it comes to the Portuguese market,” and the progress they are set to make is a prospect they “relish.”

Market regulation:

Still relatively new, Portugal’s regulated online gambling market went into effect in June 2015 and on May 25 of the following year, the first online sports betting license was issued to Well Operations Limited, operating under the Bwin brand. A little more than a month later, on July 25, 2016, an online casino license was issued to Estoril Sol Digital Online Gaming Products and Services, SA by the country’s gambling regulator, Servi?o de Regula??o e Inspe??o de Jogos (Gambling Inspection and Regulation Service) (SRIJ).

Kaizen tie-up:

The latest deal follows iSoftBet’s content integration agreement with one of Europe’s fastest-growing game tech companies, Kaizen Gaming, via the operator’s Betano brand in Bulgaria. The new collaboration further strengthens the relationship between the two entities, with the London-headquartered provider previously partnering with Kaizen brand Stoiximan in 2019.
