Global lottery and gaming products and services innovator Scientific Games Corporation (NASDAQ: SGMS) has announced that it has been shortlisted in a total of four categories for the upcoming 4th Annual Global Gaming Awards scheduled to take place at the 2017 Global Gaming Expo (“G2E”) on October 2 in Las Vegas.
The Las Vegas-based Company’s nominations include:
- 2017 “Land-Based Industry Supplier of the Year”, an honor recognizing innovation in gaming supplier product and services.
- 2017 “Digital Supplier of the Year,” honoring the creator of the most engaging digital gaming products industry-wide.
- 2017 “Land-Based Product of the Year,” which honors the features, equipment and technologies that enhance the gaming experience. This nomination is for the multi-state linked instant game, WILLY WONKA GOLDEN TICKET?. Created in partnership with Warner Bros. Consumer Products, the blockbuster has been launched by ten lotteries so far. It is 2017’s top-indexing $10 instant game in Maine, Georgia, Arizona, Colorado and New York, having topped $263.9 million in retail sales and nearly 1.6 million online entries (as of August 21, 2017).
- 2017 “Digital Product of the Year,” an honor recognizing the innovations or features that have improved the interactive gaming sector. The Company received this nomination for its Secret Santa Second-Chance Drawings promotion, which was created for the Pennsylvania Lottery this year. The holiday promotion saw a record-setting 15.8 million online entries -65% via the mobile app- and topped $40 million in retail sales in the state. The digital game’s skill-based components, new for lottery players, drove friendly competition that reached social media.
In the news release, Kevin Sheehan, president and Chief Executive Officer for Scientific Games, said, “It is an honor to be recognized for our expertise and innovation in four categories at the 2017 Global Gaming Awards and across all three Scientific Games’ divisions. These are fiercely competitive awards among the world’s top gaming companies, honoring innovation and entertainment.”
A panel consisting of 60 industry-leading judges will select the winners in each category and will be announced during an awards ceremony at the Sands Expo in Las Vegas on Monday, October 2 during G2E.
Last year, Scientific Games was the recipient of a Global Gaming Awards top honor for “Land-Based Gaming Innovation of the Year” and was also a finalist for “Land-Based Industry Supplier of the Year”, “Casino Product of the Year”, and “Digital Product of the Year”.
