In an effort to compel local players to utilize only those sites run by domestic providers and?combat gambling addictions, Switzerland recently implemented a blanket ban on foreign iGaming operators as part of the Money Gaming Act that legalized online gambling in the country.
According to to the June report, the new law will only reportedly allow gamblers in Switzerland to wager on sites that have been approved by the Swiss Federal Gaming Board while the state is to collect tax revenues to use to fund a range of anti-addiction programs. Officials in the sovereign state claimed at the time that such problems afflicted approximately 75,000 people in the small Alpine nation and costs society almost $512 million every year.
