Austrian gaming technology company, Novomatic, has reportedly acquired Casino Riviera in Portoro?, Slovenia, bringing the total number of licensed casinos it owns in the Central European country to nine.
The recent purchase was reported by the Slovenian daily newspapers Delo and Dnevnik over the weekend.
Open 24 hours, the resort town casino on Slovenia’s Adriatic coast is situated in the Hotel Riviera and currently offers more than 180 gaming positions including slots and electronic roulette and features a lively entertainment program.

…further expanding its holdings in Slovenia, in June Novomatic acquired Casino Princess, which was indirectly owned by the Turkish chain Princess Group International, in Nova Gorica via Novo Investicije.
And over the past few years, the?Gumpoldskirchen-headquartered company has additionally purchased Casino Lev in Ljubljana and Kongo Casino near Grosuplje from Slovenian entrepreneur Joc Pe?e?nik.
The Austrian group also operates gaming parlors including Casinò Tivoli in Lesce and Casino Joker in Maribor, along with casinos and hotels in Ptuj (Casino Poetovio), ?kofije (Casino Carnevale) and Kozina (Admiral Casino Mediteran) under the Admiral Slovenija brand.
One of the largest gaming technology companies in the world, the gambling company is owned by Austrian businessman Johann F. Graf, who founded the giant in 1980 and is on Forbes’ list of global billionaires.
The international company that employs more than 30,000 people worldwide had a turnover of around EUR 5.0 billion in 2018, has locations in over 50 countries and exports high-tech gaming equipment to more than 70 countries.
According to Dnevnik via Total Slovenia News, in 2018, Novo Investicije generated EUR 32 million in consolidated sales revenue, an increase of 60 percent year-over-year, while net loss swelled by 171 percent to EUR 2.17 million.
The substantial sales growth was the result of the companies acquired from Pe?e?nik’s Elektron?ek being integrated into the Novo Investicije group, as reported by the news agency.
