The federally-recognized Mississippi Band Of Choctaw Indians has reportedly refinanced its gaming debt after reporting an $11 million increase in annual revenues alongside a $2 million swell in overall profits.
According to a report from local television broadcaster WTOK-TV, the Mississippi tribe’s Choctaw Resort Development Enterprise Incorporated owns and operates the Silver Star Resort?Casino and the Golden Moon Casino at Neshoba County’s Pearl River Resort as well as the Bok Homa Casino in Jones County along with the Dancing Rabbit Inn and the Geyser Falls Water Theme Park and last year spent $70 million on renovations.
“It allows us to reduce our interest rate to a historic low [of] 2%,” Phyliss Anderson, Chief for the Mississippi Band Of Choctaw Indians, told WTOK-TV. “It will enable us to save about $8 million annually. By being able to do this we are making sure that we are paying our notes down, that we’re taking care of our loans while providing service that are greatly needed for our tribal members.”
In the face of ever-increasing competition, Anderson reportedly declared that the tribe and the Choctaw Resort Development Enterprise Incorporated are continually working to bring new attractions to its venues for guests to enjoy.
“It’s very important that we continue to keep up with our competition,” Anderson told the broadcaster. “That’s the only way that we’re going to attract more customers here and continue with our financial success.”
