Empire Resorts, Inc. (NASDAQ: NYNY), a publicly traded gaming and entertainment company, which is currently developing the $1.5 billion Resorts World (former working name: Montreign Resort & Casino at Adelaar) plans to hold a “Job Opportunity Briefing Session” on May 8 in the Ellenville High School auditorium from 6 to 9pm, according to The Daily Freeman.

During the briefing session, executives from the Monticello, New York-headquartered company will be providing the community with the most recent news about the resort project which is slated to open in March of 2018. Hiring timelines will also be discussed, along with how best to obtain the skills required to gain employment at Montreign.

In a press release, Charles Degliomini, Executive Vice President at Empire Resorts, reportedly said, “This forum will help the community understand the skills, educational background and other requirements necessary to be employed at our resort casino.”

According to the report, human resources staff from Empire Resorts will be discussing the type of positions at the resort casino that will need to be filled, including those in marketing, security, accounting, hospitality, food service, tourism management, gaming, and computer technology.

On December 17, 2014, the New York Gaming Facility Location Board awarded three licenses for upstate casinos, including the Montreign Resort Casino as well as Rivers Casino & Resort Schenectady, which opened its doors on February 8, and del Lago Resort & Casino, which opened in Waterloo on February 1st this year.

The resort casino property, currently under construction in Sullivan County, New York, will include an 18-story casino, a 5-star hotel and entertainment complex with 2,150 state-of-the-art slot machines, 130 table games, a poker room and private gaming salons. Hotel amenities will include 332 all-suite luxury rooms, which include 12 penthouse suites, 8 garden suites and 7 two-story villas, a spa and fitness center, two indoor pools, 10 unique bars and restaurants, and a 2,000-plus-seat event center, casino bar, restaurants, and lounges.

According to Empire, which is 88.7% owned by Kien Huat Realty Sdn Bhd of Malaysian conglomerate Genting Group?(MYX:3182),?the entertainment village will open in late 2018 and will provide additional accommodations, entertainment, and food. That will be followed by a Rees Jones redesigned 18-hole golf course which will debut in spring 2019.

The golf course and entertainment village are also being developed by subsidiaries of the Montreign Operating Company, LLC (MOC), which is Empire’s indirect, wholly-owned subsidiary. Empire Resorts also owns and operates the Monticello Casino & Raceway in Monticello, NY.
