The Horseshoe Southern Indiana has reportedly fully re-opened for business after being forced to close late last month due to fears that the rising waters of the nearby Ohio River may flood the 503-room property.

According to a Sunday report from the local News and Tribune newspaper, the venue owned by Las Vegas-based Caesars Entertainment Corporation was temporarily closed in the early hours of February 21 as flood waters lapped at its foundations and overran its adjacent parking garage.

“We are excited to welcome back our guests,” reportedly read a statement from Brad Seigel, Senior Vice-President and General Manager for the Harrison County property. “I couldn’t be prouder of our team members that have been working diligently to prepare Horseshoe [Southern Indiana] to welcome back guests. Thank you to our guests for their support and patience during our closure.”

Located approximately 14 miles from downtown Louisville, Kentucky, the Horseshoe Southern Indiana?with its 93,000 sq ft gaming floor was opened in November of 1998. The recent closure represents the fifth time the rising waters of the Ohio River have forced its temporary shuttering with the previous incident occurring in the spring of 2015.
