In efforts to reach out to the millennial audience, MGM Resorts and Caesars Entertainment have focused their efforts on offering new skill-based games. Gamblit Gaming is a skill-based gaming developer who has created a new option known as Model G game tables for casino operators, which offer such titles as Cannonbeard’s Treasure and Gamblit Poker. The games available have a level of skill required that seem to appeal to the millennial crowd, a group that casinos now wish to cater to. Just recently, Gamblit Gaming expanded their skill-based gaming product in Nevada by installing the games at the MGM Grand after installations at?Harrah’s Lake Tahoe?and other gaming venues within the state.
Gamblit announced yesterday that their first two skill-based games were live at the MGM Grand within the LEVEL UP lounge in Las Vegas. Scott Sibella is the President of MGM Grand who stated that the new installation was part of the mission of the casino to keep the gaming experiences of the facility ‘fresh and exciting’ for guests. Darion Lowenstein is the Chief Marketing Officer for Gamblit who stated that the LEVEL UP lounge of the casino is a perfect fit for the high-energy arcade-like gaming experience found within Gamblit games.
Back in April, both Cannonbeard’s Treasure and Gamblit Poker launched at Harrah’s Lake Tahoe casino, bringing the skill-based gaming experience to a new area of the state. According to the Regional Vice-President of Marketing for Caesars Entertainment, Micholas Breaux-Fujita, the new machines will help to bring a newer and larger crowd to the casino. According to the VP, the younger demographic that visits the Caesars venues wish to play in groups with friends. As the new games are video-game based, it seems they will be able to attract the younger crowd as the game requires quick thinking and has more of a competition feel.
Also launching the Gamblit content in April, Harrah’s Resort Southern California, another Caesars property, began to offer the skill-based games. Gamblit has additional plans to launch new gaming titles as regulatory permission is given. The goal is to provide casino operators with new content that appeals to millennial customers. This generation of visitors to casinos does not have the same level of interest in traditional slot machines as previous generations and operators believe that adding a level of video-gaming style will help to keep players on the gaming floor.
