Minnesota is set to see upgrades on its Fond-du-Luth Casino, after the Fond du Lac Band of Lake Superior Chippewa Indians have agreed to spend $3 million giving it a more modern look. The project is set to go ahead this summer, with an estimated working time frame of around four months.?? In recent times, this casino has been at the front of several court cases, mostly to do with a revenue sharing deal, which the federal government decided to invalidate. A total of $75 million was paid by the tribe before the issue in 2009. Another Court of Appeals matter in November argued that $12 million is still disputed by the two warring factions.

The Chippewa Indian tribe is also planning to install solar panels on the Black Bear Casino. The upgrades to two casinos in Duluth and Carlton,? should brighten up the mood at these sites, which have been looking rather dated over the last decade. As well as their casino work, the band will also be upgrading clinics, will continuing to advocate smoking in their casinos, as well as announce other big plans for the year.
