As part of an effort to make it a more?“all-inclusive resort destination experience,” the?Prairie Band Casino in?Kansas recently revealed renovations to its Mayetta gaming venue.

According to the Topeka Capital-Journal

The casino’s general manager, Bill Marsh, said the renovations give the Prairie Band Potawatomi Nation-owned and operated facility an “entirely new look and feel,” which make it more customer friendly and welcoming and customer friendly.

The casino located about 15-minutes north of Topeka on US-75 highway received improvements to its gaming floor and transformed its hotel lobby by adding a new bar and coffee shop, making it a comfortable place for customers to socialize.

20th Anniversary:

The casino is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year and the?Tribal Grand Re-Opening Celebration of the?Lobby Bar, Kapi Coffee Bar and the $55 million Casino Renovation project that was held on?Friday mark phase one of an ongoing major expansion. The development is expected to be completed in 2020, according to Marsh who has been at the Prairie Band Casino since June and is a 19-year veteran of the gaming industry.

The full expansion will include the addition of a new 75-room hotel tower, with both indoor and outdoor pools, a spa and hot tubs, as well as a 500-space parking garage and transforming the existing?Buffalo Grill into a 24-hour bar and grill.

Phase one:

Approved in January last year?by the Prairie Band Potawatomi Nation tribal members, phase one of the 30-month project began on July 9 and on October 10 it was completed, said Marsh. Phase two work is set to begin in early 2019.

Chief Financial Officer for the Prairie Band, Judy Hartley, said the renovations included the gaming area’s redesign to make it brighter and create a winding path through it, as well as opening up additional seating in the dining area for the buffet.?As cited by the news agency, the?Prairie Band news release said,?“Using the Prairie Band Fire Eagle logo as an inspiration, much of the design through the gaming floor uses the colors red and yellow in the lightning, signage, carpet, wall treatments and detailing.”

Facility amenities:

The 35,000 square feet casino floor features 1,200 gaming machines, including?high limit slot games, approximately 30 table games and?400-seat bingo hall with 200 hand-held?electronic bingo?devices and video poker. The 297-room hotel features three restaurants, coffee bar and lobby bar,?an RV Park, gift shop, convenience store and an award-winning 18-hole golf course.

In addition to the grand re-opening celebration on Friday, the Prairie Band also held a public celebration on Saturday.
