The union president should resign and the new guy should suspend picketing for labor day weekend as a good will gesture. This is right out of the book of Lenin. You write two letters. I guess these aren’t intelligent marxists. Unions have always had very poor leadership which is why they barely exist in the private sector anymore, but thrive in the public sector where there is little accountability. They should give the company a reduced contract for three years. 18 months is not enough to rebuild the damage they have done. There’s nothing to lose here on the part of the union. They waged their strike. They cost the company a load of money. Therefore, they have credibility when they go to negotiate with others.
